TOKYO - NKK Corporation (president: Yoichi Shimogaichi) and Hitachi Zosen Corporation (president: Takenao Shigefuji) today signed a final agreement for the integration of their respective shipbuilding operations by October 1, 2002.
The plan is the result of a basic agreement reached on February 23 this year and follows months of detailed studies into the mechanisms and timing of the integration. The two partners are continuing to prepare for the startup of the integrated company as follows:
