TOKYO - At a meeting of the company's Board of Directors held today, NKK appointed executive vice president Masayuki Hanmyo as new president and representative director, succeeding Yoichi Shimogaichi, who will become chairman and representative director.

The current chairman, Shunkichi Miyoshi, will assume the post of honorary adviser.

The appointments will take effect on February 1, 2002.
