Organization Revised

On April 1, NKK implemented several organizational changes in its steel, engineering and other divisions to further streamline its corporate structure and improve operational efficiency. The main revisions are as follows.

In the Steel Division, while several departments/sections were integrated to create a more flexible organization, the new Steel Products Export Department has been formed to handle strategic export sales and coordination functions. The department will take responsibility for export and logistics-related activities covering steel sheet, plate, and building and construction materials.

The Engineering Division--previously comprising five subdivisions, which handled energy engineering, environmental engineering, plant engineering, steel structures and machinery construction, and ship-building and offshore structures operations--has been reorganized into seven industry-based operational groups. The seven groups cover energy engineering, environmental engineering, water treatment engineering, plant engineering, steel structures, machinery systems, and shipbuilding and offshore structures operations. The aims of this reorganization are to narrow down business areas and the management responsibility of each group in order to realize more market-focused sales activities and enhance profit improvement measures.
