Asian Operations Reorganized
As part of the reorganization process for its operations in the Asian region, NKK closed its Singapore office on December 31, and opened a new Malaysia representative office on January 1.
The establishment of the Malaysia office is intended to secure a stable and lasting customer base through stepped-up services in the local market. The office will engage in market and technical research and information gathering in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Vietnam, while effectively supporting the company's business operations overseas. NKK's Southeast Asian business is now conducted from its offices in Malaysia, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Jakarta.
The Malaysia office is based in Kuala Lumpur(see back page for full address) and is headed by Akio Kodoi, formerly deputy general manager of the Singapore office
Also on January 1, NKK assigned Koji Naito, former general manager of the Singapore office, to head the Jakarta office. Mr. Naito replaces Yoshiyasu Hirama, who has returned to the head office in Tokyo to serve as general manager.
